Wrong on all Levels

10 Dec
Have you ever heard someone use the phrase:  He meant well; bless his heart!   If you’ve heard or use this expression, you can be certain of two things: 1) Someone did something really dumb and 2) they really meant something other than bless his heart.   Well if I were “politically correct” I would say to the pastor and elders of the Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church of Houston, Texas: ” You meant well, bless your heart”  Since I am not politically correct,  what I would say to those participating in the “Faith Shared” initiatives is:  What were you thinking, this is wrong on all possible levels!!!
If you are unaware of Faith Shared and their objectives you can read about them here.   Also, the list of Churches (numerous) that have signed up to participate can be found on this page. This is so unbiblical,   I am not going to waste time or electrons discussing it further; I’d rather stand on the Word of God!
The apostle John tells us:  “Watch yourselves, that you do not lose what we have accomplished, but that you may receive a full reward. Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into  your  house, and do not give him a greeting; for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds. (2 John 1:8-11 NASB)”
John provides three very important messages in these four verses:
1) Christianity is the only path to God (v 8-9). Call me narrow minded; I don’t care because it’s God’s words not mine.  The Jesus of Islam is not the Son of God nor the Messiah.  If they do not have the Son then they don’t have the Father either.
2) John tells us that if they don’t bring the teachings of Christ that we are not to receive them in our house nor even give them a greeting.  Am I wrong or is clergy bringing in Muslim clerics and reading from the Qur’an giving them a greeting and receiving them into their house?
3) Lastly, John tells us that if we give him even so much as a greeting we participate in their evil deeds. Participates: Is koinōneō.   Koinōneō means to come into communion or fellowship with, to become a sharer, be made a partner, to enter into fellowship,  join one’s self to an associate, make one’s self a sharer or partner… It infers a full blown involvement and not casual association!
The Gospel is Christ and Christ crucified, and the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing 1Cor 1:18.  It is not the gospel of love and acceptance of those who believe in whatever it is the choose to believe!  Man’s wisdom is not God’s Wisdom.
