The pagan season of saturnalia is upon us and the heathens are trying to strip all vestiges of Christmas out of their celebrations.
So my question to you today is: Do you celebrate Christmas or Saturnalia? Let me help with this by asking a few more questions:
1) Do you indulge in excess food and drink during this time?
2) Do you decorate a tree inside your home?
3) Do you kiss under a mistletoe?
4) Do you exchange gifts?
5) Do you sing naked in the streets and sacrifice a human being on December 25 th.?
If you answered yes to all of the above then you celebrate Saturnalia!
There is little doubt that many of today’s Christmas traditions have their roots in paganism. Not only are these traditions pagan in origin, but December 25th is most likely not the date of our Lord’s birth. However, I am not here to give a history lesson and you should look into this deeper if you so desire. I also am not here to pass judgement on how you celebrate Christmas but, I do need to ask you a just a few more thought provoking questions:
As God looks down on you and your household this Christmas Season, will He see actions and behaviors that honor and commemorate our Savior’s birth or will He see a Satunalia festival? Will He be able to tell the difference between His people and the unsaved?
